September 4

(Matthew 10:28) Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

(Matthew 22:37) Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

(1 John 1:8) If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

(Matthew 4:10) Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.

(Genesis 17:1) I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless

 

September 14

The Second Commandment

You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not curse, swear, use satanic arts, lie, or deceive by His name, but call upon it in every trouble, pray, praise and give thanks.

 

September 18

(Matthew 1:21) She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

(Psalm 50:15) Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.

 

September 21

The Third Commandment

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not despise preaching and His Word, but hold it sacred an gladly hear and learn it.

 

September 25

(Matthew 11:28) Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

(Luke 11:28) Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.

The Fourth Commandment

Honor your father and your mother.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not despise or anger our parents and other authorities, but honor them, serve and obey them, love and cherish them.
