There are many varieties and species of dragons. Some more populular dragon species are the water, earth, fire, and sky dragons. Other types of dragons are the Amphiptere, Drake, Eatern Dragon, Faerie Dragon, Hydra, Lindorm, Ouroboros, Sea Serpent, Wester Dragon, Wurm, and the Wyvern.
Amphiptere's are an overlooked dragons species. They have geen dubbed "winged Wurms" or "Wyverns" but are intirely different. Amphipteres have only wings and no other limbs at all.
Drakes are seldom heard of, but instead of wings they have four legs. They capable of breathing fire. Drakes often vary, some may be sepentile, while other would have much thicker bodies.
Eatern dragons are respected in the East. They are a symbol of balance, with a perfect balance of yin and yang scales. They are made up of many species. Many people look to them for rain in the drier months. Eastern Dragon species can be differentiated by there toes.

Faerie Dragons are thought to be the smallest type of dragon. They are belived to be related to butterflies. They seldom eat meat and are cosidered to have many bug-like qualities about them.

Hydras have multiple heads and first appaered in Greek mythology. They may also have multiple tails.

Lindorms supposedly were discovered by Marco Polo. They are extremely swift and deadly. They have serpentine bodies with two legs and no wings. They have long tails and shorter legs.
Ouroboros dragons are serpentile, that have their own tails in their mouths. They are a symbol of the "loop" of the universe, and the natural order of things.
Sea Serpents live in water, fresh or salt. They have no limbs except for a tail. Sea serpents were feared through out the 1400's.

Western dragons are reptilian beatsts with bat wings and four legs. They are highly decorated with crocodile heads, and spines down their back. Their abilities are reflected in their scales.
Wurms are also known as Guivre, Worm, or Wrym. They have no limbs at all. They have serpentile, thick bodies. Wurms have snake-like heads, protective scales, with rigid underbellies.
Wryverns
Wyverns look much like birds, with two legs, and a pair of wings. They are small, with wedged shaped heads and beak shaped mouths, necessary for carrying food. They have stingers at the tip of their tails. They are a sign of strenght, powere, and endurance.
Dragons are carnivorous, but occasionally will eat things like berries and other varios types of vegetation. Dragons are fiercely territorail. They will protect their territory, or occasinally their mate at all costs. Most dragons will reach maturity at 250 to 300 years of age. Dragons can live for thousands of years, maybe even millenia. Some people may think dragons that are dragons are immortal, or live forever, but they do eventually die. They may die in battle, sickness, or old age.
Most people think that dragons aren't real, but figments of our imagination or faiytales and legends. This may be true to them, but dragons in truth could just be very good at hiding. They can still be found today in lakes, rivers, ancient woodland, remote places, and magical and elemental places. Dragons need spaces with lots of trees and crevices. They also need pure areas without chemicals. Most dragons prefer areas with plenty of water, where they can hide and drink. Water renders most dragons almost invisible and will not put out there fire.

Other things to know about dragons are that you see them all the time in history as great beasts that try to attack castles, steal princesses, and eat livestock for paticalr reason. There is an explanation, though. The dragons might attack the castle because it was built in the dragons territory. It might eat livestock because it had to move where no food was to be found and it has to eat farmers animals as an improvise. The stealing princesses theory is just a story, however.
