A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE

Melinda Crow, our congregation secretary, has moved to Iowa .  We need a secretary to fill out the balance of her term ending June 30, 2011.  The secretary records the minutes for our congregational and church council meetings.  The council meets 6 times a year on Saturday mornings.  The congregation meets 2-3 times each year.  Please prayerfully consider this opportunity to serve.  If you are interested or have questions, please contact Pastor or Carol von Soosten in the church office. NEW TEACHER WELCOME

The Board of Fellowship would like your help to welcome our three new teachers (Tanya Sainz, Matt and Michelle Luevano) at the Church and School Picnic on Sunday, Aug. 29th. Please make a donation to help purchase a gift card for classroom supplies and set-up. If you haven’t played “Groundies” you’re really missing out. Watch for another chance to play…..sometime.
Up-coming events: Tuesday, July 27th is Christmas in July! Please let Leslie know what you’re bringing so we have everything covered for our Christmas dinner. We’ll meet at 6:00 PM instead of 7:00 at the Helge’s home. Friends are always welcome.

AUGUST SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL

The children’s Sunday School classes (grades Preschool – Fifth grade) will not meet on August 1, August 8, and August 15. We will have a special movie day on Sunday, August 22 and a special end-of-summer party on August 29. We will begin our Fall Quarter on Sunday September 5. CHRIST LUTHERAN SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY FUNDRAISER

BIBLE STUDY GROUPS

LIFELIGHT BIBLE STUDY
There is a new LifeLight study.  The subject of the new study will be covering the books of Timothy, Titus, and Philemon.  Come and join us for the study of these three Epistles.

Timothy deals with how to manage the ministry in a church and preparation for the ministry in the last days.  Titus deals with the church in Crete and individual obligations.  Philemon deals with Christian forgiveness.

WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY
Are you feeling overwhelmed and stressed by life? Come join the Sunday morning women’s Bible study as we start our new Cynthia Heald study titled, "Becoming a Woman of Simplicity".

SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDY
We will be using "Searching the Scripture" from past Lutheran Witness publications. If you are interested in trying out this small group Bible study, now would be the time to do so. Each session will be a complete topic with no carryover to the next meeting. Give it a try. We meet every other Thursday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Koschmann's. We end with dessert and fellowship from 8:30 - 9:00. Contact Al Koschmann if you are interested.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY
Tony Dungy - Quiet Strength - The Men's Tuesday Morning Bible study is starting a new study "Quiet Strength" by Tony Dungy.  Topics include: What is my game plan? -- What is success?  --- What is my legacy?  We meet Tuesdays at 6:00AM in the narthex.  Join us!!

THURSDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASS
NEW BIBLE STUDY – Dr. Erich Helge leads a Bible study on I Kings at 9:30 a.m. in the narthex.
